General Engineering Superintendent

Position: General Engineering Superintendent - Mining Industry

Location: Gauteng Province, South Africa

RPO Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Engineering Superintendent to oversee and manage all engineering activities within their mining operations in Gauteng Province. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering, with extensive experience in the mining industry.

Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate all engineering activities within the mining operations, including maintenance, repair, and construction projects.
Develop and implement engineering strategies to improve operational efficiency, safety, and productivity.
Oversee the maintenance of mining equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Monitor and control engineering budgets and expenses to meet financial targets.
Provide technical support and guidance to the engineering team, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Manage relationships with external contractors and suppliers for engineering services, equipment, and materials.
Implement and maintain systems for tracking and reporting on engineering performance metrics.
Develop and implement training programs for engineering staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Requirements:
BSc Engineering Degree/National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Electrical Trade Test Certificate
Legal liability training certificate
5 years Mining experience of which 3 years should have been on a foreman level
DMS plant experience and  Mobile machinery experience
Strong technical knowledge and expertise in engineering principles and practices.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team of engineering professionals.
Knowledge of relevant safety and environmental regulations in the mining industry.
Valid driver's license
