The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Safety Compliance
Compliance with all safety regulations as set out in the mines policies.
Investigate all incidents and accidents as per SOPs.
Maintenance Management
Execute maintenance work in accordance with maintenance management policy.
Ensure that root cause failure analysis (RCFAs) action plans are executed within assigned deadlines.
Assist subordinates with fault finding and technical analysis on machines.
Advise on applicable parts and components to be replaced or reused.
Review planned maintenance work based on breakdowns and RCFAs.
Ensure that workforce is adequately equipped with tools and equipment to execute the required work safely and as per OEM standards.
Labour Management
Assist the maintenance manager to fill vacancies.
Approve overtime requests from subordinates and inform maintenance manager.
Review the performance of the engineering foremen on a monthly basis.
Manage workshop discipline.
Initiate training and development matrix for the workforce and put action plans in place to fill the gaps.
Minimum Requirements:
National Senior Certificate
Valid driver's licence
Must have N4 or Equivalent Engineering Tertiary qualification
Must be a qualified Artisan
5 years previous experience as Supervisor/Foreman in the earthmoving industry
Relevant experience in an open cast mining environment
Knowledge / Competencies / Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
PC proficient including Microsoft Office.
Proven record of supervisory skills.
Problem solving techniques and the application thereof.
Extensive knowledge of the technical field of heavy machinery equipment.
Machines, Duties, Responsibilities & Reasons for Leaving at each Company MUST be listed on CV.
