General Assistant (External Applications Only)Description:Ensure comprehensive customer service in store.
Merchandising of stock, shelf price labelling, and housekeeping within designated area of responsibility.Requirements:Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 and 1 (one) year work-related experience orGrade 12 without related work experienceAbility to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is availableValid South African ID or work permitAbility to perform basic calculations accuratelyMust be willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidaysMust be able to work under pressureCustomer Service:Advise and assist customers on correct products and queriesAssist with and resolve customer complaintsBulk stock area to be merchandised safely and according to store layout planEnsure your area of responsibility is fully merchandised according to store layout and planogramsEnsure that your area is free of obstacles, stock is merchandised immediately after being received, and that customers can enter and leave your aisle without any risk of injury or irritationCorrect shelf price labelling within area of responsibilityEnsure checklist is completed as required when on duty with canteen and toilet/showers scheduleSafety (OHSA) Requirements:Safety (OHSA) compliance (e.g., use of safety gear, ensure customer and staff safety) within area of responsibilityEnsure area of responsibility (racking and bulk) stock is merchandised safely for customers and colleagues to move within storeReport any discrepancies to the store managerReport damaged stock within area of responsibility to store managerDrive for Results:Achieves set targets and completes work accurately and at the required standardDelivers best practice quality/standards as established in the companyMakes an effort to follow through on commitmentsSolve Problems:Identifies problems and seeks root causesResolves problems and escalates issues accordinglyUses relevant information available in own department and operational work environment to resolve problemsMake Decisions:Makes decisions within the framework of company policies and within set timelinesMakes decisions giving due consideration to the consequences of the decision made in area of responsibilityImplements decisions made in line with agreed processes and policiesPlan:Plans within framework of operational/department policies and proceduresHandle Pressure:Handles pressure well and is consistent in controlling own responses irrespective of time or workload pressuresDemonstrates courtesy and willingness to assist when dealing with customers, suppliers, and colleaguesAble to deal with daily conflict situations effectivelyCommunicate:Demonstrates courtesy and effectiveness when dealing with others in day-to-day communication in line with company valuesEnsures relevant information is shared with appropriate stakeholders
