The position is based in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and will report directly to the GCM organisation based in Denmark.Apply today and get a life-changing career!The positionAs a GCM DP Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring Novo Nordisk's interests regarding short to midterm capacity, compliance, quality, manufacturing readiness, and activities at the CMO.
You will have a substantial impact on the business with the CMO regarding strategy input, prioritization, and following up on agreed actions and improvements.Your other responsibilities will include:Identifying and implementing changes and process improvements to create a strong and solid foundation for future growth in this area.Developing new work standards and setups for collaboration between GCM DP and the CMO delivering aseptic manufacturing activities and participating in project work to ensure new projects enter operations in a satisfactory manner.Developing and following up on joint KPIs and creating a robust working relationship with the CMO.Initiating and implementing changes to maintain and improve operations.Supporting CMOs (and acting as backup for other Operations Managers) all over the world.Travel of ~3-5 weeks per year is expected.QualificationsYou hold a relevant scientific education corresponding to MSc or BSc within Pharmacy, Engineering, or Supply Chain.
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a good command of English.
Preferably, you have:10 years of experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing/packaging and cGMP.5 years of experience with outsourcing or managing global CMOs.Experience in Production, Manufacturing Operations, Project Management, or Supply Chain Management.Experience in handling Changes, Deviations, and Customer Complaints.Knowledge of regulatory guidelines for the pharmaceutical industry.Excellent relationship management skills.Effective communication skills providing clear and timely information to stakeholders.Strong GxP knowledge and understanding.A technical, analytical, and structured approach to problem-solving.As a person, you have an international mindset and the ability to understand and collaborate in an international setting, with the ability to lead complex discussions involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.About the departmentGlobal Contract Manufacturing Drug Products (GCM DP) oversees all aspects of commercial external production, including filling, assembly, and packaging.We prioritize diversity, encourage empowerment, and pride ourselves on a varied workforce, comprising a range of professional profiles such as project managers, supply chain professionals, specialists, and operation managers.Working at Novo NordiskAt Novo Nordisk, we don't wait for change.
