Job Introduction:Vacancy: Shift Supervisor Reporting to the Contract Manager or Customer Services Manager, the Supervisor coordinates the provision of contractual security services to customers within the region, in compliance with legislation, Company policies, and procedures.
The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and exercising sound judgement in achieving the goals of the organisation, understanding the role which operations/support/management plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results-driven and to live the values of the organisation.
Role Responsibility:Main responsibilities: Effective co-ordination of operations in compliance with legislation and G4S policyManagement of absenteeism and deployment of personnel to cover posts.Allocation and distribution of rosters.Conduct on-site training and induction for current and new employees.Conduct site visits and inspections, focusing on the application of site instructions and G4S Policy.Co-ordinate and control the allocation of deployment vehicles.Effective management of the financial performance of the contractEnsure effective cost control occurs in respect to fuel, cellphones, site assets, and expenses.Maintenance of required standards of employee performance and behaviour in the regionEnsuring that performance assessments of all subordinate employees are conducted and corrective action implemented where necessary.Ensuring that acceptable standards of behaviour at work are maintained by all subordinate employees, as required by G4S's code of conduct and disciplinary code.Ensuring that all disciplinary actions are conducted in compliance with Company policies and procedures.Administration and assistance with employee pay queries.Health and SafetyParticipate in safety forums.Report all safety incidents.Attend safety education and refresher programmes.Comply with all safety policies and procedures in the workplace.Wear protective clothing at all times.The Ideal Candidate:Minimum Requirements: Grade 10 or equivalent.Driver's Licence with PDP.PSIRA Grade A.Minimum 2 years' experience in security management.Knowledge, skills and attributes: Knowledge: South African security legislation.G4S Operational Policy and procedures.G4S HR Policy and procedures.Health and Safety legislation.Skills: Managing Professionally.Leading People.Conflict Management.Communication (written and verbal).Supporting and Working with Others.Attributes: Delivering Performance.Customer Thinking.Dealing with changing circumstances.Work under pressure.About the Company:About G4S: G4S is the world's leading international security solutions group, which specialises in outsourced business processes in sectors where security and safety risks are considered a strategic threat.
