The Grove Primary School seeks to employ an enthusiastic Digital Learning Coach and IT Teacher to join a dynamic, vibrant and innovative school from January 2025. . The successful candidate should: Hold a suitable professional qualification and have appropriate educational experience together with a sound and progressive understanding of the South African curriculum and international trends in educationHave a high degree of technical expertise in current ICT related operating systems i.e. Windows, iOS, AndroidHave knowledge and experience with Learning Management SystemsBe passionate about combining education and technology and accelerating the use of technology to enhance learning and teaching applications in an innovative and creative way.Have excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with strong presentation skills, attention to detail and sound administrative ability.Show a willingness to work within the values of the school and a willingness to participate in all areas of school life including the comprehensive extracurricular programme of the school.Provide proof of registration with SACE, supported by a sexual offender's clearance certificate and a police clearance certificate.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Enhancing teacher development and supporting the learning and teaching systems by engaging with teachers in the effective use and integration of ICT for learning and teaching in all subject areas in the Intersen Phase including robotics and AI.Designing and delivering professional development sessions on the use of educational technology tools and platforms for staffConducting workshops and one-on-one training sessions to enhance technology proficiency for staff.Providing technical support for software related issues of the school and for the ICT systems used within the school, including latest iOS, Windows and Google platforms.Developing and maintaining user guidesStaying current with emerging trends and advancements in technology and technology in education.Evaluating and recommending new tools and resources.Liaising with the IT staff – managing the rollout of equipment to staff and supporting the school vision.Assisting with the development of a robust Coding and Robotics curriculum.Being involved with budget planning and inventory/stock control.Documenting and implementing IT procedures and policy.Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills and competencies to take on this position.
