Job Description Job Purpose : Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of server hardware and software, virtualization technologies, cloud services, and related infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security of IT systems
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain physical and virtual server environments, including Windows Server, VMware vSphere, and Microsoft Azure Monitor system performance, implement preventive measures, and resolve issues to ensure high availability and reliability Perform server provisioning, configuration, patching, and upgrades as needed Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions Contribute to the design, implementation, and documentation of server infrastructure and processes Perform backup and recovery processes including testing using the tools and technology deployed in PetroSA to ensure business hardware & software availability Implement work practices relating to all aspects of server support and adhere to PetroSA's IS policies, procedures to ensure cost-effective and efficient use of IS systems Provide timely and effective technical support to internal customers (Departments/Teams) Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding server-related issues, maintenance windows, and service updates Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree/NQF Lev 7 qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification or equivalent 5 years of experience in server administration and support, including virtualization technologies (VMware), Windows Server (2008 - 2022), monitoring tools, cloud services (Microsoft Azure), Microsoft 365, and enterprise storage systemsVirtualization technologies (VMware vSphere)Server hardware and enterprise storage systemsBackup and disaster recovery solutions NB: As part of our recruitment process, candidates will be required to undergo Vetting/Security clearance.
