Industry: Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil & GasJob category: IT and TelecommunicationsLocation: Cape TownContract: Fixed Term ContractRemuneration: Market RelatedEE position: YesJob DescriptionJob Purpose: Manage the overall design of the enterprise information architecture within the Oil and Gas industry, across multiple data types (structured, semi-structured and unstructured), balancing the need for access against security and performance requirements to ensure that logical designs translate into physical persistent frameworks.Responsibilities:Translate strategic requirements into a usable enterprise information architecture, which may include an enterprise data model, associated meta-model, common business vocabulary, ontologies and taxonomies, to guide enterprise solution development and achieve consistency of information assets across the application portfolio.Develop a meta-model management and repository strategy to ensure that all enterprise information architecture project artefacts are managed.Oversee mapping of enterprise information architecture models to packaged application models and to determine impact or assess suitability of vendor solutions to enterprise information architecture requirements to ensure package suitability.Facilitate the definition of integrative and canonical views of data or information across multiple content types to ensure convergence of information assets, migration planning and impact analysis.Participate in the definition of technical standards and guidelines that pertain to data and information use, security, access and governance to ensure high quality data outputs.Identify and coordinate data/information assets to ensure data is stewarded and leveraged across the enterprise.Map enterprise information architecture models to the PetroSA Business Architecture, Applications Architecture and the Technology Architecture to ensure alignment.Develop and publish enterprise data standards such as a common business vocabulary, naming conventions, data standards, transformation rules and related enterprise consistency specifications to ensure a focus on information/data quality.Construct, refine and maintain information models, as needed, to meet business requirements to ensure timely and appropriate models exist to aid projects.Develop a model management strategy to ensure enterprise reuse and data-sharing objectives are met.Validate audit objectives and assist with creation of audit plans to ensure continued data integrity and transparency.Develop business cases within the Data and Information Architecture domain to ensure viability and value-add of initiatives.Provide advice, guidance and consultative expertise to stakeholders relating to Information Architecture to ensure quality end-customer products and services.Minimum Qualifications:B.
