RPO Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Freight Forwarding Operations Manager specializing in Dangerous Goods Logistics for a prominent logistics company.
This role requires extensive knowledge and experience in managing the logistics and operational processes related to hazardous materials while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities: Oversee the entire freight forwarding operation involving dangerous goods, ensuring compliance with international regulations and safety standards.
Coordinate logistics activities including transportation, storage, and handling of hazardous materials.
Manage a team of logistics personnel, providing training and support in handling dangerous goods.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
Maintain relationships with suppliers, clients, and regulatory bodies.
Monitor shipment status and address any issues or complications that arise.
Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure proper emergency response procedures are in place.
Requirements Proven experience as an Operations Manager in freight forwarding, focusing on dangerous goods logistics.
Thorough understanding of regulations and compliance standards related to hazardous materials.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Outstanding communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and regulatory authorities.
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a relevant field is preferred.
Certification in dangerous goods handling is highly desirable.
