Job Overview:
We are seeking an Experienced Editor with a passion for storytelling, dynamic pacing, and a deep understanding of reality TV and sports, particularly golf. As part of our post-production team, you will be responsible for editing high-quality, engaging content for reality TV series and golf programming. The ideal candidate is a creative and detail-oriented professional who can work under tight deadlines, has a keen eye for drama and competition, and can bring out the best in unscripted moments.
Key Responsibilities:
Edit Reality TV & Golf Content: Assemble and cut raw footage into compelling, polished episodes, segments, and highlight reels that capture the essence of the storylines, personalities, and sports action.
Storytelling & Pacing: Shape reality TV narratives with a focus on building drama, humor, and character development while maintaining the authenticity of the content.
Golf Coverage Editing: Craft engaging, dynamic sequences that showcase the sport, focusing on player performances, key moments, and the overall tournament flow.
Collaborate with Producers & Directors: Work closely with showrunners, producers, and directors to ensure the vision of each episode is met, providing creative input where necessary.
Apply Graphics & Audio Effects: Integrate graphics, scoreboards, and audio enhancements (sound design, music, commentary) to improve viewer engagement.
Ensure Continuity & Consistency: Maintain continuity across episodes and ensure editorial consistency in tone, style, and format.
Adhere to Deadlines: Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to meet tight broadcast and streaming deadlines.
Adapt to Feedback: Implement creative feedback quickly and professionally, ensuring revisions meet the expectations of the production team.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional editing experience, with a strong portfolio in reality TV and sports (golf experience preferred).
Software Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of industry-standard editing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and After Effects. Familiarity with Avid Media Composer is a plus.
Storytelling Ability: Proven ability to craft compelling, unscripted narratives that keep viewers engaged.
Knowledge of Reality TV Formats: Deep understanding of reality TV tropes, formats, and story arcs, with a talent for enhancing character-driven and competitive narratives.
Sports Editing Expertise: Strong knowledge of golf, its terminology, key moments, and the ability to edit sports footage in a way that is exciting to both casual and expert viewers.
Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure editorial consistency, clean transitions, and high-quality output across all projects.
Creativity & Problem-Solving: Ability to think outside the box and troubleshoot creatively to meet production needs and solve technical challenges.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Additional Preferred Skills:
Multi-Camera Editing Experience: Experience in multi-cam editing and live event coverage.
Familiarity with Broadcast Standards: Understanding of broadcast specs, formats, and post-production workflows.
Color Grading & Sound Design: Experience in color grading, sound mixing, and audio balancing.
