As a Software Systems Engineer, you will be part of the RAMS-E (Reliability/Availability/Maintainability/Safety Engineering) team, a group of skilled engineers, scientists, and architects supporting Philips Business Units in the development of safe, reliable, and compliant medical products. The RAMS team, consisting of about 20 experts, operates within the Quality and Reliability department of the Innovation and Strategy organization. This team provides support to various BUs by developing hardware and software products, delivering workshops, and offering training on Systems Engineering methodologies.
Your Role:
As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with business units to create high-quality software by applying Systems Engineering principles, such as FMEA and Reliability test protocols. You will also train and mentor engineers across Philips on these methodologies to enhance software design and development.
Your Responsibilities Include:
Reviewing and developing FMEA/Reliability training materials for software.
Co-delivering FMEA/Reliability training sessions.
Coaching software engineers on how to apply Systems Engineering practices to software development.
Engaging in projects to maintain hands-on experience in quality engineering and stay current with the latest innovations.
Actively participating in the global Philips RAMS community and promoting RAMS within the R&D community.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering or a related field.
8+ years of experience in software design and development.
A passion for applying Systems Engineering methodologies to software development.
A background in R&D with a solid understanding of product and software development.
Experience in a medical-regulated environment is preferred.
Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Natural talent for training, able to explain complex concepts in simple terms and engage your audience.
Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
Willingness to travel up to 20% for training delivery and onsite support.
