UV Ink Formulation ChemistJoin our client, a preeminent global manufacturer specializing in the production of top-tier pigmented Eco, Solvent, and UV Curable inks for the international digital printing sector, catering to both industrial and commercial markets. We are currently in search of a seasoned UV Ink Formulation Chemist to spearhead our ink formulation initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in UV curable ink formulations and polymer chemistry. They will play a pivotal role in driving the innovation and development of cutting-edge UV ink products tailored for diverse applications. This position is based in the Cape Town region.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science, or related field.Minimum 7 years of experience in UV ink formulation.In-depth understanding of pigment dispersions, polymer chemistry and UV curing mechanisms.Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment relevant to ink formulation and testing.Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.Strong oral and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.Duties:Formulation Development: Design, develop, and optimize UV ink formulations for various applications. Maintain a systematic approach for ink formulation, ensuring consistent quality and performance.Testing and Validation: Conduct comprehensive testing of ink properties including adhesion, durability, colour, rheology, and cure speed. Validate the performance of new ink formulations through standardized and application-specific tests. Collaborate with the R&D team, sales, and application teams to understand market needs and tailor formulations accordingly. Work closely with raw material suppliers to stay abreast of the latest technologies and innovations.Documentation: Maintain detailed records of ink formulations, testing results, and production procedures. Prepare technical data sheets, safety datasheets, and other necessary documentation.Scale-up and Production Support: Assist in the scale-up of ink formulations from lab scale to production. Troubleshoot production issues related to ink formulation. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to UV inks.
