Location: Cape Town Start Date: 6 January 2025 Salary: R23000.00 - R25000.00 Benefits: Company Bakkie Description We are seeking 2 skilled Forklift Mechanics to join our team, The primary role of a forklift mechanic is to diagnose, service, and maintain various mechanical lifting equipment.
This includes electric, gas, propane, and diesel-powered machinery, as well as non-powered pump jacks and hydraulic equipment.
Key Responsibilities: Diagnosis and Maintenance : Perform routine and emergency service calls at client locations, both indoors and outdoors, under varying environmental conditions.
Equipment Servicing : Conduct cleaning, lubrication, battery maintenance, and repair of engines, lift mechanisms, and all system components.
Problem Solving : Collaborate with warehouse staff and clients to accurately diagnose issues and develop effective service plans.
Preventive Maintenance : Schedule and conduct preventive maintenance checks to minimize equipment downtime.
Documentation : Maintain thorough logs of all work performed, complete safety checklists, and submit necessary forms.
Major Repairs : Carry out equipment disassembly and reassembly as needed, and relocate equipment for convenience or major repairs.
Physical Work : Handle physical tasks, including heavy lifting and equipment movement.
Safety Compliance : Ensure a clean, safe working environment that adheres to regulatory safety standards.
Required Skills and Experience: Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems; ability to read and apply information from technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Tool Proficiency : Skilled in the use and maintenance of a variety of hand tools and machinery.
Communication and Client Service : Ability to interact professionally with clients, ensuring satisfaction and service quality.
Inventory Management : Manage company stock responsibly and utilize both manual and computer-based inventory systems.
Company Representation : Assist in promoting company services and contributing to overall business success.
Workshop Maintenance : Keep workshop supplies and tools in excellent condition and maintain a well-organized workspace.
Vehicle Responsibility : Safely operate and maintain the company vehicle.
Valid Drivers License : Required for travel to client sites.
