Key Responsibilities:
Implement the group forensic strategy to reduce crime committed against TFG, including monetary losses.
Reduce operational risk through recommendations to policies, processes, system or structure changes.
Raise awareness of TFG's zero tolerance stance.
Respond to developing crime trends by recommending action plans.
Coordinate and collaborate on all forensic efforts across the group.
Determine key areas of risk & focus using info from whistleblowing/tip-offs and data analytics.
Liaise with law enforcement agencies (SAPS), risk forums, industry bodies and relevant internal stakeholders.
Use highly developed investigative capabilities to manage risk by:
Ensuring that all investigations are conducted in accordance with accepted forensic methodologies.
Liaising with Operations to reach desired conclusions regarding open cases.
Ensuring that matters are followed through to achieve prosecution.
Monthly reporting on operational forensic statistics.
Qualification and Experience:
7+ years practical experience at a senior level in the investigation of crime (including reactive investigations and pro-active strategies) (essential).
SAPS experience (including knowledge of prosecution procedures).
Retail investigations experience.
Working knowledge of preparing evidence files and interviewing witnesses and suspects.
Solid understanding of Criminal Justice and court proceedings.
Established reputation for integrity, good judgment, fairness and discretion when dealing with staff and external parties.
The role requires extensive local travel, so you must be willing & able to travel.
