Purpose of Job The Foreman (Incline) is responsible for overseeing engineering maintenance processes within the appointed area to enable mining teams to achieve production targets while adhering to the principles of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Morale (QCDSM).
Key Accountabilities Engineering and Maintenance Strategies : Oversee and carry out maintenance strategies to ensure departmental KPIs are met and equipment is properly maintained or replaced when necessary.
Equipment Availability : Ensure equipment availability by managing downtime, shift schedules, Mean Time To Failure (MTTF), and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
Maintenance Program Adherence : Ensure adherence to the maintenance program and engineering standards, including the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Project Implementation : Manage operational projects and ensure compliance with engineering regulations and governance bodies.
Condition Monitoring : Carry out condition monitoring and compliance with monitoring schedules.
Failure Trend Analysis : Conduct failure trend analysis and implement root cause elimination.
Cost Control : Manage maintenance costs to ensure production targets are achieved within the allocated budget.
Safety Performance : Ensure zero harm, zero fatalities, and excellent safety performance.
Team Management : Oversee recruitment, training, coaching, and career development of the maintenance team.
Requirements Education and Experience Formal Education : Grade 12 or N3 with Mathematics, Physical Science, and English Trade Test Certificate (Millwright/Electro Mechanic) Experience : At least 8 years of relevant experience in a maintenance or engineering environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
Required Skills Action Planning : Strong skills in planning and execution to meet production and maintenance goals.
Engineering Technology : Knowledge and application of engineering design and technology.
