Food Technologist

Minimum requirements: BSc Qualification/ Diploma in Food ScienceExperience required: 3 years' experience in a similar positionStart date: As soon as possibleLocation: Paarl, Western CapeJob Type: Full Time; Permanent with a 3-month probation periodPackage: Negotiable based on experience and expertiseReference Number: FOODTECH001Duties and Responsibilities include; but not limited to:Food Safety System:Assist in the maintenance of records to indicate due diligence of food safety system.Assist with the review of the Food Safety system for continued adequacy, suitability and effectiveness through system audits.Conduct facility audits to ensure compliance and continue improvement.Assist with third party (external) audits, FSSC, IBL, ZA.Understanding of IBL requirements (advantageous)Evaluation of potential and existing suppliers to ensure compliance.Assist with the development and control of product flow diagrams required for HACCP studies (Food Safety).Assist with problem solving and investigations (Non-conformance system).Customer Communication:Investigate and provide timeous feedback to customers on complaints received.Product Development:Conduct structured shelf-life studies for new and existing products.Assist product developer with tasks on requestWeekly Product sensory evaluations.Laboratory and Personnel:Oversee staff and daily duties of laboratory staff.Ensure adherence to company disciplinary policies and management of leave cycles.Develop and provide training for food safety and quality requirements.Oversee and assist with testing procedures, laboratory equipment etc.Experience & characteristics required for this role:Strong attention to detailOrganizationalProblem-solving skillsIn-depth knowledge of quality control proceduresExcellent communication and listening skillsApply for VacancyYour Name (Required)E-mail Address (Required)Contact Number (Required)Reference number for vacancy you are applying for (required)Cover Letter (Required)Attach your CV in Word or PDF format
