You'll be working with a close-knit food team, acting as custodian of top quality and accurate food content.If you create recipes with confidence in the kitchen, style stunning food images in the studio, stay up to date with food trends, and enjoy writing food stories, we want to hear from you.Job Title: Food EditorJob Description:Key responsibilities:Work on the accounts of 2 major retailers, which includes a monthly print magazine, digital content, and in-store leaflets and point of sale.Conceptualise themes for food magazine features, advertising campaigns, and social media content.Write food articles, recipes, and social media captions.Create storyboards and mood boards tailored to fit a specific brand.Shoot planning and preproduction.Food styling for both editorial and above the line advertising.Guiding the photography or video team and leading the kitchen team in the studio.Create and test recipes.Manage shoot budgets, taking responsibility for your own recons.Work closely with the head of food, editors, and account managers to deliver excellent content on time and within budget.Act as mentor to junior food team members and manage freelance food team members.Keep abreast of food trends.Key Requirements:A tertiary qualification in food.At least 4 years' experience in the food content creation industry.Proven experience in food styling for a brand (working on above the line advertising is a bonus).Valid driver's license and own vehicle.A creative and innovative personality.The ability to work under pressure and have lots of energy and drive.Great organisational skills, deadline-driven.The ability to manage time and budgets well.Good writing skills, including spelling and grammar.A natural leader who displays strong decision-making skills and attention to detail.Ability to understand and influence target audiences.A self-starter who enjoys working in a team but can work independently.The ability to multi-task with high attention to detail.A keen interest and understanding of food and social media trends.Be willing to assist as needed on other food brands within the business.Please send your application, including your portfolio when applying.Closing Date: 2 September 2024 at 17h00Preference will be given in line with the Dentsu Creative Employment Equity Policy.Please note that if you have not heard from us within two (2) weeks of the closing date, you should consider your application unsuccessful.
