Our client is seeking a Fleet Planner to join their Break Bulk Division.
This key role ensures seamless coordination and optimisation of our client's fleet operations for flatdeck, taultliner and containerized road transportation, supporting our commitment to exceptional customer service and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities Manage an allocated fleet of trucks and drivers, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to company policies.
Oversee subcontractors to meet operational requirements while ensuring compliance with BCA regulations and mitigating OHSA and contractual risks.
Develop and maintain relationships with Sales Managers and customers to streamline pickups and deliveries.
Ensure adherence to KPIs, SLAs, and other contractual requirements.
Optimise fleet planning, including daily revenue sheets, distance, payloads, and fuel utilisation.
Manage human resources for drivers and admin staff, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and compliance with RTMS standards.
Collaborate with payroll to ensure drivers' adherence to legislated driving times and resolve payment queries.
Maintain and improve vehicle turnaround times, asset maintenance, route planning, and vehicle loading schedules.
Utilise telematics and tracking systems for data analysis to improve performance and driving behaviour.
Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and manage incident investigations.
Skills: Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams of over 50 people.
Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain and/or Logistics Management preferred.
Experience with Breakbulk, Tautliner, and Flatdeck Operations will be advantageous.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Proven track record in supply chain activities, specifically in road transport management.
Experience in stock management, logistics, production processes, and process optimisation.
Proficient in sourcing and managing supply chain contracts.
Proficiency in TMS systems as well as Office 365.
