Overall Role FunctionThe overall objective of this operations manager role is to effectively manage and oversee the day-to-day (also nightshift) operations of the depot/plant. This includes the short-term planning and scheduling of daily operations. This extends from the productivity of drivers and their vehicles, along with the overall maintenance of vehicles, solving queries, and so forth, in order to deliver exceptional service within clients' SLA.This job will also include a skilled Tautliner to join our team. As a Tautliner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation. Your primary responsibility will be loading and unloading goods, securing the cargo properly, and ensuring its safe delivery to the designated destinations. Additionally, you will be required to inspect and maintain the vehicle to ensure its optimum performance and adherence to safety standards.Responsibilities:Operate a tautliner truck to transport goodsLoad and unload cargo securelyPlan routes and ensure timely deliveriesInspect and maintain vehicle and complete necessary documentationAdhere to traffic laws and safety regulationsCommunicate effectively with dispatchers and customersHandle any unexpected situations or delays during transportBudget Control:Creditors: Ensure all invoices and PO's are signed off and submitted to Finance. Follow up on outstanding moneyOther: Insurance claims, traffic fines, vehicle maintenanceManagement of driver hoursBudget and Resource Planning:Use relevant data and analysis to give input into budget preparation for the division/depot.Client Service:Service Culture: Deliver within SLAPartnership Management: Cultivate objective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders (e.g. HR team, IT, Clients)Client Relationship Management: Daily client interactions on the frontline.
