Details of the offer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and implement fleet management strategies and policies to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
Develop and maintain a budget for fleet operations including forecasting and tracking expenses.
Manage a team of fleet supervisors and administrative staff to ensure smooth and timely execution of fleet maintenance and repairs.
Oversee driver recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
Monitor and analyze fleet performance, including vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Oversee the acquisition and disposal of fleet vehicles, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Negotiate and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of fleet vehicles and parts.
Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained and serviced according to manufacturer guidelines and best practice.
Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and maximize the lifespan of fleet vehicles.
Conduct regular audits and inspections of fleet vehicles and equipment to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
Provide regular reports to management on fleet performance, budget, and any issues or concerns.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards in the management of the fleet.
Stay informed about industry trends and developments to make informed decisions for the fleet.
Manage/book all plant, vehicle, and equipment, movement etc.
Calculate operator hours/plant allocations/project allocations, and supply costings to the finance team.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Proven leadership and team management abilities.
Proficient in using fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
