How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair of our fleet of road tankers and undercarriages. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing and reducing maintenance costs while ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet.
Responsibilities: Technical fitness of the fleet: Ensure that the fleet technically complies with safety & operational requirements as per local regulation & or AL GTs, leading the necessary assessments to identify gaps & lead technical upgrading of existing fleet. Review & validate the technical specifications of newly purchased fleet providing technical support to procurement during the procurement process. Lead the fleet maintenance activities ensuring the highest fleet availability & reliability while minimizing the maintenance cost / KM driven through: Ownership of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) for bulk fleet white & black parts, ensuring proper & clean data inputs. Establish the work standard, spare parts, required manpower, & cost for each maintenance task in the CMMS. Ensure proper & timely implementation of preventive maintenance tasks by coordinating between logistic dispatch team & maintenance contractors (white & black parts) to make the fleet available in time to execute maintenance activities. Follow up with procurement department to ensure availability of black & white parts spare parts. Follow up the proper execution of maintenance tasks & update the CMMS by the actual consumed spares, manpower, and time consumed for each maintenance task. Participate with procurement to qualify workshops & personnel who execute white & black parts maintenance. Perform routine analysis regarding fleet availability & reliability, mean time between failures. Perform routine analysis for the maintenance cost (white & black parts) using the database in CMMS establishing trends for white & black parts maintenance cost / Ton & or / KM. Lead the fleet renewal & expansion studies / execution: Understand the road regulation related to transportation of dangerous goods, safety & operational requirements, maximum GVW, & load distribution limitation. Perform feasibility studies for fleet renewal based on TCO (total cost of ownership) & added value of payload optimization. Are you a MATCH? Qualifications: Matric and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Experience: 3+ years of experience in truck or vehicle maintenance, preferably in a workshop setting. Experience with truck OEMs, body carriage, and undercarriage equipment. Experience managing a maintenance budget. Competencies: Strong leadership and management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
