We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fleet Controller to join our team in the mining industry.
The successful candidate will oversee the efficient management and coordination of the company's fleet operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, optimal utilization of resources, and adherence to operational targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the daily operations of the company's fleet, including scheduling, dispatching, and routing.
Monitor the performance, availability, and maintenance of fleet vehicles to ensure minimal downtime.
Collaborate with mining operations teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Track and record vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and driver performance.
Oversee vehicle inspections, servicing, and adherence to mining safety regulations.
Ensure compliance with legal requirements, including licensing, permits, and insurance.
Respond promptly to breakdowns, emergencies, or other fleet-related issues.
Maintain detailed records of fleet operations and prepare reports for management.
Coordinate training for drivers/operators and enforce compliance with company policies.
REQUIREMENTS Qualifications: Grade 12 or equivalent (essential).
Diploma or degree in Logistics, Fleet Management, or a related field (advantageous).
Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in fleet management, preferably in the mining or heavy-duty industry.
Proven track record in optimizing fleet operations and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of fleet management systems and tracking software.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in mining.
