Our client is looking for a Fleet Controller to join their Break Bulk Division. This critical role focuses on the effective coordination and optimisation of fleet operations, specifically managing flatdeck and tautliner assets. The position entails overseeing an assigned subfleet of vehicles, leading drivers and support staff to ensure operational efficiency, and delivering seamless, high-quality service to our customers. Responsibilities: Manage an allocated fleet of trucks, subcontracted vehicles, and drivers, ensuring adherence to company policies. Serve as the primary liaison between drivers and the Fleet Planner, facilitating smooth communication and administration. Coordinate with depot Key Account Supervisors to meet service requirements and ensure order fulfilment. Optimise delivery route planning, vehicle allocation, and driver schedules, escalating additional asset requirements as needed. Oversee driver and admin staff human resource management, including performance tracking and resolving queries. Administer TMS and telematics tracking systems for performance analysis and continuous improvement. Monitor and improve operational metrics, including turnaround times, fuel usage, and delivery efficiencies. Manage PPE distribution, ensure HSE compliance, and assist in incident investigations alongside the H&S Officer. Facilitate root cause analysis for accidents or incidents, supporting risk assessments and reporting. Skills: Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams of 1025 people. Demonstrated ability to manage projects efficiently and perform under pressure. Qualifications: Preferable tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or Logistics Management. Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role. Experience with Breakbulk, Tautliner, and Flatdeck Operations will be advantageous. Experience in sourcing and managing supply chain contracts. Proven track record in stock management, logistics, and process optimisation. Proficiency in TMS systems (DataTim, Office365, MixTelematics, Volvo Connect).
