Fixed Assets Accountant

Successful incumbent will have a completed B.Com (Accounting) degree / similar, coupled with 5+ years Fixed Assets and Accounting experience with a Manufacturing concern. Solid SAP / Excel experience is essential. KPI's include: recording, valuation, accounting, reporting and timely capitalization of capital projects including the tagging of assets; updating and maintaining back-up documentation; review, analyze and process all capital asset disposal and transfer requests; review operating expenditures to determine if any costs should be capitalized; reconciliation and reporting of capital work in progress; preparing reports required to monitor and provide information on the capital expenditure program against plan; Managing and carrying out annual fixed asset implementation process; prepare monthly reconciliation of fixed asset sub-ledger to GL balances; monthly and annual closing of fixed asset sub-ledger; maintain fixed asset tax ledgers and income tax workings; manage forward cover and forward cover reporting process for capex projects and other foreign spend; managing process for the placement and movement of off-site assets and the contracts and rebates accompanying these; arranging and managing the fixed asset financing process with the banks, including monthly HP instalment summary and finance charges journals and reconciliations; perform cashflow planning for capital expenditure projects, working closely with the FM; CAPEX budget workings preparation including financial requirements; compilation of fixed asset insurance information and acting as a gatekeeper of expenditure treatment of Capital vs Operating costs. Solid Excel and SAP experience with the FI-AA modules essential.
