Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Conducting mechanical inspections on all production machinery when requiredResponsible for conducting routine planned and preventative maintenanceHydraulic systems (leaks repairs, Filter change outs)Conveyor belts, drives, pulleys and replacement of rollersLubrication tasksV-belts replacementsAttend breakdowns when required on all Production machineryFault finding on hydraulic systemsServicing of various hydraulic componentsCoordinate day-to-day activities and the flow of tasks and responsibilitiesDrive C-Works maintenance system and ensure workshops utilization targets are met consistentlyCoordinate and monitor quality and efficiency of work processes and inter-departmental work flow, report any issues or possible improvements to Maintenance ManagerConduct spot checks on work progress and ensure quality control measures are implementedAttend, oversee and assist with repairs and maintenance of existing componentsAssist the Maintenance Manager with coordinating repairs and maintenance tasksAssist the Maintenance Manager to ensure all team members comply with the safe working procedures Generate job cards as needed and manage the distribution thereof to the various teamsAbide by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety ActProvide daily feedback on work status to the Maintenance managerSupport the Maintenance manager in ensuring compliance to timekeeping, productive output, discipline and work programs within the Fitters departmentAny other tasks including administrative functions such as completing timesheets, filing, reports as agreed with the Maintenance Manager, suited to this level of responsibility Qualifying Criteria: Qualified Fitter Artisan (Red Seal certification)Minimum Grade 12 or equivalentMinimum 5 years' experience as a Qualified Fitter in a heavy industry environmentMust have experience in a leadership role or positionMust be physical fit and able to work at heightsMust be able to work in confined spacesStrong Hydraulic background will be an advantageValid driver's licenseExtensive knowledge of power toolsKnowledge and adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Rules and regulationsAbility to work under challenging conditionsExcellent communication skills (understand, read and write in English)Computer LiterateMust be prepared to work overtime when required Qualifying AttributesHard-working and self-motivatedTime and priority managementExcellent communication skills on all levelsDisplay a professional work approachAbility to work in; as well as lead part of a teamLogical and detail orientatedExcellent standards of executionAbility to lead by exampleClear leadership abilityCritical thinking and conflict resolution potentialCommitment to a strong business ethic and integrity Other Information: Job title: Fitters Team LeaderReporting to: Maintenance ManagerJob type: Permanent positionBenefits include· Provident fund· Life cover at 4x annual salary· Funeral cover· 15 x paid leave days per annum· Long service leave after five years of employmentStandard hours07h30–17h00: Monday – Thursday07h30–16h00: FridayMay be required to work overtime as per operational requirements We regret that it is not possible to contact all unsuccessful applicants.
