TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: Fitter & Turner at the Engineering department in Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.
Responsibilities and Duties
Read and interpret drawings
Turning and machining of various components including multistart, buttress, square, acme, metric and imperial threads
Identifying different types of threads and their use in the industry
Machining to standard tolerances
Identifying of different types of bearings their application and the fitting of such bearings
Knowledge of inline, radicon and crofts gearboxes, the assembly and repair thereof
Fitting of keys, bushes, pins, gears, sprockets and alignment of various types of couplings including tyre couplings, spider couplings, gear couplings, flange couplings, etc.
Do maintenance checklists
Assist with maintenance planning
Identify problematic machinery and inform management thereof
Always maintain a safe working environment
After repairing machinery in conjunction with production personel, ensure that the machine is working according to the required standard
Be able to troubleshoot and do fault finding
Do basic boiler making and welding, including the building of small structures
Must be prepared to travel and work at different mills including the stayover as and when required
Qualifications and Skills
Matric / Grade 12 or N3
Qualified red seal artisan
Superb machining skills
At least 3 years' experience in an industrial environment
Basic knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
Decision making abilities
Ability to takeinitiative
Computer literate (Word and Excel)
Strong organisational skills
Strong communication skills
Basic boiler making and welding skills
Prepared to work overtime and standby duties when required
Prepared to do training courses to improve skills
Good fitting skills
Valid driver's license
