The core responsibilities of the position include:

Attending to breakdowns, preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance & shutdown projects
Systematic fault finding to reach a probable root cause
Able to execute planned maintenance work unsupervised
Able to co-ordinate shut down activities and daily tasks
Able to carry out process related fault finding
Able to facilitate problem solving and solution implementation
Knowledge of plant statutory requirements
Able to support planning system and process systems
Ensuring good SHE and housekeeping
Technical report writing and administrative duties
Collaborate with cross functional teams to improve Department effectiveness.
Ensuring overall plant objectives are achieved in terms of production, quality and plant reliability.




The requirements for the position include:

N4 or higher qualification
Minimum 5 years' experience
A recognized apprenticeship and trade test
Reading and understanding engineering, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings
Have an understanding of diesel engines and combustion system.
Hydraulic modules in design and fault findings
Good working knowledge and skills to work on of different types of pumps, bearings, gearboxes, lifting equipment, lubrication systems and their applications
Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to challenges
Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required
Actively participate in reliability forums
Knowledge of basic computer applications, BI systems
Preparedness to work overtime, standby and shifts when required.
Remelt experience is an added advantage.
