Job Title: Mechanical FitterDivision: Weir MineralsLocation: AlrodeOnsitePurpose of Role: To assemble the vertical and horizontal bearing units and pumps in accordance with the given specifications and ensure the QCP is completed correctly, conforming to required Weir Minerals standards.
Assist from time to time when it's required to pressure test the pump units.Key Responsibilities:Assemble horizontal units and vertical bearing units for pumps.Conduct fault finding on bearing assemblies and provide daily feedback on performance.Ensure quality and work standards of workmanship are maintained.Complete bearing assembly and pump units, inspect units to comply with quality standards, and sign off on required documents.Monitor the technical bearing assembly and finishing of pump units.Responsible for safety when working with equipment.Meet daily targets.Assist in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives that address all quality-related queries and concerns.Be available to work overtime when necessary.Adhere to all HSE and housekeeping requirements (6S).Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:Education and/or Experience:Trade test certificate with a minimum of 3 years' experience in pumps to overhaul and maintain.
College or technical school qualification and ability to read and interpret drawings; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Skills:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
