Dis-Chem Pharmacies require the services of a Dispensary Manager Trainee for their Soshanguve store. To assist in the management of the Dispensary functions by supervising the dispensary including the self-medication area and managing subordinated staff. To provide pharmaceutical care by taking responsibility for the patients' related needs and being accountable for meeting these needs. To effectively deliver excellent customer service and stock management.
Requirements: Grade 12 / MatricRegistered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)Minimum 2 – 5 years pharmaceutical experienceExperience in supervising staffAdvantageous: Previous dispensary management and practical work experience Duties and Responsibilities: Act in accordance with the rules and regulations of the South African Pharmacy Council ("SAPC").Safeguard and safekeeping of schedule 6 medication by administering the process of safekeeping of the medication key including the records and the register.Ensure all staff work within SAPC scope of practice.Ensure that Good Pharmacy Practice rules and regulations are adhered to by all employees.Ensure SAPC registration and annual registration fees are updated consistently.Ensure all employees adhere to the confines of the Protection of Personal Information Act ("POPIA") act to protect confidential information.Accurately capture and interpret script details and verify patient's details on the system.Be conscious and mindful of various fraudulent activities such as doctors' scripts.Ensure accurate picking / packing / labeling and checking of medication and be aware of common dosages as well as important drug interactions.Provide accurate instructions to patients in relation to accurate usage of medicine supplied.Keep abreast of changes in medical aid procedures and requirements for claims and dispensing.Assist with managing the dispensary stock to minimize stock shrinkage.Manage all expired or short-dated stock that is held in the dispensary.Ensure that expired stock is regularly disposed of and kept separate from usable stock on an ongoing basis.Manage dormant, negative stock and ensure follow-ups and investigations are conducted.Assist in managing stock ordering process to reach maximum purchasing compliance.Manage the stock days and ensure that the hot list is checked and managed on a regular basis.Encourage timely quality care & exceptional customer service and act as the face of the dispensary department.Advice and assist patients at the dispensary, self-medication counter, and front shop when necessary.Provide accurate and precise information to patients such as medical aid costs.Able to identify patient requirements and respond in a professional manner at all times.Manage customer service initiatives in the dispensary that results in a great customer experience, drives customer loyalty, and achieves great customer satisfaction.Process accurately all the paperwork necessary for correct administration of your department.Ensure correct process is followed for all paperwork necessary for the accurate submission of claims to medical aids.Ensure assistance is offered for authorization of chronic, HIV and AIDS, and oncology medication.Maintain customer profiles on the system.Merge profiles locally and UCS should be notified to merge profiles centrally.Take note of any messages on the customer profile and take suitable action.Ensure dispensary and self-medication areas are always adequately staffed and staff rosters are in place.Ensure staff works within their ethical boundaries as governed by the South African Pharmacy Council.Ensure that fridges and workstations are clear of clutter and personal belongings.Facilitate the creation of accountable, full-service teams who understand and strive to meet the needs of all customers through effective inspirational leadership.Take full responsibility for the performance of all direct reports, motivating and managing them in relation to quality standards and agreed
