The Structural Engineering Lead is responsible for providing technical project planning, management, and oversight for key initiatives and project implementation. The lead ensures that these projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while applying all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) that enables the business to retain its ISO 9001 accreditation.
You will be responsible for managing all phases of the project in the Structural Engineering division, including:
Project management of all project resources (including partners/subcontractors/specialist services), project planning, scheduling, risk management, scope management, internal and external communication, and status reporting. This position reports directly to the CEO and is based in their Pretoria office.
Duties and Responsibilities:Lead and manage building projects.Budgeting, resource allocation, procedures, profitability, quality, and standards.Develop and communicate project goals and deliverables; assess and evaluate project teamwork to ensure successful completion of projects.Undertake client liaison and communication with all stakeholders of the individual projects.Preparation of project plans, conducting project health checks, and overseeing the implementation of recovery plans where necessary.Technical coordination within the business and with external team members and/or stakeholders.Assist the Business Development team and the relevant Executive in identifying opportunities for tendering, preparation of requests for proposals, and full tender proposals.Oversee project production efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.Generate relevant reports for projects as required by the business.New business development.Conduct and attend meetings with clients, professional teams, and contractors. Desired Experience & Qualification:BSc / B.Eng / B-Tech Degree.10-15 years' post-qualification experience in the built environment and at least 5 years in a Technical Lead role.Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer/Technologist.Proven track record as Project/Technical Lead on multi-disciplinary building & Infrastructure projects.Project Management experience to manage medium to high-rise office, residential, educational, healthcare, commercial and industrial buildings and water-retaining structures.Experience in contract administration & management of multi-disciplinary building & Infrastructure projects.
