Senior Site Development Engineer Department: Civil / Municipal

Compensation: 140,000 - $185,000 / year

As a Professional Engineer for Site Development, you will be responsible for a variety of projects, taking ownership from start to finish.
Core Responsibilities: Development of project work plans and scopes of workProvide project oversight and schedule monitoringPrepare fee proposals and track and manage project budgets and invoicingPrepare roadway, grading, drainage, water, and sewer plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3DProduce project deliverables including technical memoranda, design plans and specifications, and technical reportsAdminister quality assurance for project deliverablesPrepare supporting calculations, construction specifications, and permitting in various jurisdictionsPrepare construction cost models and engineer opinion of probable cost for projectsManage and design development and redevelopment projects for private clientsPartner with other Horrocks practice leaders to assist on multi-disciplinary project pursuitsMaintain effective communications with clients and project teamsTechnical Reporting and PresentationsConstruction Observation and Coordination with Construction ContractorsEnsure that staff resources are deployed in a productive and profitable mannerConduct regular meetings to ensure that project needs are balanced with staff availabilityQualifications, Skills, and Competencies: Undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineeringProfessional Engineering (PE) licensure or ability to obtain PE within one year10-15 years of progressive experience with an emphasis in civil design including drainage, utility, roadway, and development designA self-directed practitioner with strong project management and project delivery skillsAbility to supervise staff, bid projects, and develop project execution plans and technical deliverablesOutstanding client and personnel skills and the ability to persuasively communicate at all levelsTechnical expert with outstanding team building, writing, proposal development, cost estimating, and program execution skillsMust be able to work effectively as a team leader in a group environment and maintain positive relationships with team members and clientsOrganized and detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal skillsProficiency in Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, StormCAD, WaterCAD, HEC-RAS, SWMM, and Urban Drainage and Flood Control softwareExperience with drainage and utility reportsExperience working with both private and municipal clientsStrong industry relationships and an understanding of municipal, state, and federal criteriaSignificant experience and understanding of local, regional, state, and federal policies, programs, and proceduresWhy would a candidate want this job?
