Strategic Overview: A key leadership position within a prominent insurance company in the energy sector. This executive position offers oversight of a substantial balance sheet, with responsibility for capital management, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Area of Specialization: Reporting to the General Manager, the Senior Manager Finance will provide strategic direction and leadership for comprehensive financial management, with specific focus on IFRS 17 implementation, Prudential Authority regulatory reporting, and capital preservation strategies. The role encompasses leadership oversight of risk management, governance, compliance, actuarial, and information technology functions.
Minimum Requirements Qualification & Professional Registration: Chartered Accountant CA (SA) at NQF level 8 with 480 Credits or equivalent
Active SAICA membership
Experience: 10 Years' demonstrated experience in Financial Management Proven track record in senior leadership roles within large financial services organizations
Strong background in Prudential Authority regulatory reporting and compliance frameworks
Experience with IFRS 17 implementation preferred
Core Technical Competencies: Expert knowledge of IFRS 17 standards and Prudential Authority regulations
Advanced capital preservation and investment management expertise
Proficiency with financial systems for risk, policy administration, and accounting
Strong capability in complex financial reporting and audit management
Experience in data-driven decision-making and system optimization
Leadership Competencies: Strong analytical and leadership capabilities Strong stakeholder management skills with auditors, Prudential Authority, and internal teams
Demonstrated ability to influence through insight and interpersonal skills
Proven track record in building and leading high-performing teams
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Direct financial strategy and integrated planning
Oversee capital preservation strategies, including management of short-term investment instruments
Lead engagement with Prudential Authority and regulatory bodies
Drive financial controls and governance frameworks
Operational Excellence: Manage complex financial and regulatory reporting
Oversee audit responses and control implementations
Direct actuarial function oversight
Lead technology and system optimization initiatives
