The Senior Electronic Hardware Engineer will lead the design, development, and testing of LRUs for a leading Defence/Aerospace company. This role requires a strong technical background and experience in electronic circuit simulation and design as well as the ability to lead the LRU development process from preliminary design through to production.
Responsibilities: Design, simulate and complete PCB design and routing of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) according to specifications provided by systems engineer.Follow the defined electronic hardware design processes and document design according to hardware design plan.Take part in peer reviews of LRUs.Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support.Collaborate with software, mechanical, DSP, RF and aeronautical teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware LRUs.Test and validate hardware designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations (DO-160, MIL-STD-704).Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware design and performance. Qualifications: B. Eng Electronic, M. Eng Electronic or similar.Minimum 10 years of experience. Experience in the Military and/or Aerospace industry would be advantageous.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Altium, LTspice. Non-negotiable: Altium.LTspice or similar.Minimum 2 years experience with High Speed Digital Design (50GbE to 100GbE).Extensive experience in analog, digital and communication electronic hardware designs. Additional Information: Familiarity with DO-160, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-704 would be advantageous.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Experience in 3U VPX and 3U VPX backplane design preferred.Familiarity with DO-254 design processes would be advantageous.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Follow the design process without guidance.Familiarity with MTBF calculations preferred.Familiarity with FMEA circuit analysis preferred.Familiarity with Ansys would be advantageous.IPC design course for PCB Design for Military & Aerospace Applications preferred.Additional IPC design courses would be advantageous.
