About the Role:
As Deputy CTO, you will drive operational excellence within the TechLab, ensuring timely delivery of innovative solutions and fostering a high-performance culture. Partnering with the CTO, you will oversee resource allocation, project management, and team development, with a focus on open-source principles and community engagement. This role demands a strong leader with extensive software development expertise and a passion for advancing digital democracy.

Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Team Development: Recruit, onboard, and mentor a high-performing team. Promote best practices, continuous learning, and innovation.Software Development Oversight: Manage all phases of the software lifecycle to deliver high-quality products on schedule. Ensure projects meet stakeholder expectations while balancing team workload.Knowledge Management and Advocacy: Maintain comprehensive documentation and share insights with the civic tech community. Foster collaboration across teams to drive innovative solutions.Partnership Engagement: Build strong client relationships and tailor solutions to meet their needs. Negotiate and implement technology agreements effectively.Administrative Duties: Manage time effectively across multiple projects. Provide guidance and support to direct reports.Key Qualifications:Minimum of 5+ years experience in software development.Proven leadership in technology operations and team management.Strong commitment to open-source principles and community engagement.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Reports To: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
