Key Responsibilities : Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of all automation systems on board the vesselTroubleshoot and resolve any issues with automation systems, including hardware and software malfunctionsMonitor and analyze system performance to identify potential problems and implement solutionsInstall, configure, and upgrade automation systems as neededCollaborate with the engineering department to ensure proper integration and functionality of all automation systemsKeep detailed records of all maintenance and repairs performed on automation systemsTrain and assist other crew members in the operation and maintenance of automation systemsStay up-to-date with advancements in automation technology and make recommendations for system improvementsQualifications : High school diploma or equivalent requiredTechnical degree or certification in automation or a related field preferredMinimum of 2 years of experience as an Automation Technician in the maritime industryStrong knowledge of automation systems, including navigation, communication, and engine control systemsFamiliarity with programming languages and software used in automation systemsExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsWillingness to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environmentValid seafarer's medical certificate and STCW certification
