We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Financial Manager to join our team and oversee our financial operations.
Job Summary: The Financial Manager will be responsible for managing the financial health of our retail operations, providing strategic financial guidance, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management within the retail industry, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Job Function:

Assist in the consolidation of monthly results and analyze against forecast, budget, and prior year results.
Partner with corporate departments to provide meaningful expense analysis and facilitate the reforecasting of expenses.
Support the annual budget and ongoing forecast process through the creation and management of submission templates as needed.
Take the lead in loading and reconciling budgets and forecasts.
Analyze current business and system processes for potential areas of improvement.
Actively participate in problem solving initiatives to determine root cause, gap analysis, along with the development and implementation of process improvement recommendations.
Support Senior Management with ad hoc budgeting, reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations.

Financial Reporting:

Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Cost Management:

Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
Analyze operational costs and recommend strategies to improve efficiency.
Monitor and control expenditure to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.

Risk Management:

Assess and mitigate financial risks.
Ensure effective internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets.
Monitor and manage the company's financial liabilities.

Inventory and Asset Management:

Oversee inventory accounting and valuation.
Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of inventory levels.

Systems Management:

Manage relationships with systems service providers to ensure that system users receive appropriate support and oversee all system changes and enhancements.

Team Leadership:

Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
Coordinate with other departments to support financial planning and operational goals.

Strategic Initiatives:

Participate in strategic planning and business development activities.
Provide financial insights and analysis to support expansion and investment decisions.
Drive financial initiatives to support the company's long-term goals.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the retail industry.
Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
Proficiency in financial software (SAP Business One/Systech) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong working knowledge of Financial Statements (P&L/Balance Sheet).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
