Location : Head office in SandtonType : Full-time, OnsiteSalary : R600-R680K per annumAA / EE Requirements : NoneEssential requirements :Bcom + Honours in Finance or Accounting2 to 3 years experience in logistics / freight forwardingDuties & Responsibilities :Adhere to the company's or organisation's financial policies and proceduresAssist with annual external financial auditCapture vendor invoices on systems (CargoWise and SAGE)Dealing with queries and liaising between vendor and team membersEnsure compliance e.g SARS license and subscriptions (Southern African Association of Freight Forwarders, World Cargo Alliance and Agency Licenses)Ensure vendor due-diligence process is adhered to.Ensuring that health and safety policies are up to dateReconcile vessel agency accountsReconcile vendor accounts to statementResolve queries with supplier and customer accountsPosting accruals once reconciliation of the cost is completeClosing of files on CargoWise and ensuring that the reconciliation is complete and accurateCapturing of debtor invoicesPerform GL reconciliations at month endLoad payments on the banking systemMaintain cashflow forecast weeklyMaintain CargoWise functionalityAssist with Taxation calculations and submissionsManage consolidations between different group companiesAssist with business case reviews and valuationsAny Ad-Hoc required by managementAbout the ROLEThe Financial Manager / Controller will support the Financial Director in this fast growing business in South Africa and offshore and will ensure consistent, compliant, effective and efficient accounting processes.
The position will require excellent technical accounting and communication skills.
The position will report directly to the Financial Director and partner with cross functional teams in JHB and Durban and Mauritius and will play a key role in further growth activities in the business.
