Job Description
To deliver on accurate vehicle costing and profitability analysis. The incumbent of the role needs to strongly understand the principles of IAS2 Inventory, have an understanding of Importer costing and understand Hedge Accounting.
Position Overview
Specific Role Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring all shipments are accurately costed
Responsible for analysing vehicle profitability in terms of Mix, Volume, Price
Ensuring all releases are done out of Costing Accruals
Testing the adequacy of Costing Accruals
Ensuring all stock provisions are adequate
Testing costing accruals on a quarterly basis to ensure they are reflective of actual spend
Ensuring all FEC schedules are up to date and that the appropriate exchange rates are used when costing
Analysis of Importer Inventory (Ageing)
Calculation and adequacy of NRV Provision
Calculation and elimination of Unrealised Profit
Creating, calculating, and processing other monthly journals
Creating different costings for Dealer, Car Rental, Fleet, and Exports
Analysis of Vehicle Buy Backs
Ensuring all other general accounting entries are processed and accurate in time for cut off
Preparation of Monthly flash report with detailed analysis
Conducting detailed expense analysis and working with Business Unit heads, particularly monitoring Advertising Spend and Dealer assistance
Create and compile all reconciliations with support for each balance sheet account – ensuring these accounts are free of error/omission and meet the audit assertions for completeness, existence, valuation
Assist the Reporting FM with quarterly reporting to Exco
Assist the CFO with budget and forecast submissions to Motus
Assist the Reporting FM with Foreign currency maintenance and reporting
Ensuring that all irregularities are reported to the correct managers and escalated should this fail to bring the required results.
Ensuring that internal and external audits run smoothly, and all related issues are corrected.
Giving feedback of all issues to the Reporting FM/CFO
Ensuring that all checks and balances are in place as required (Daily, Weekly, Monthly).

Qualifications and Experience

BCOM Accounting/Studying toward CIMA/CIMA qualified
4 years in a Costing Role
Financial Accounting
Financial Reporting
Management Accounting
Strong Data Analysis
Commercial/Business Acumen
Financial Systems Administration/Good knowledge of the Autoline system
Company income tax knowledge
