As the Financial Manager you will be responsible for managing global consolidated management accounts and supporting the Senior Finance Manager in overseeing the financial operations of international entities. The role involves managing payroll, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements in South Africa, and assisting with the financial oversight of multiple global companies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in international finance, with a focus on management accounts and multi-company consolidation. The position requires strong technical knowledge of payroll and accounting practices, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. This is a hands-on role, best suited to a professional with experience outside of Africa who can navigate the complexities of global financial operations and deliver operational and financial outcomes.
Minimum Requirements: Fully qualified in CIMA, ACCA or ACA with at least 5 years PQE. Experience with Xero (preferred) Payroll qualification (preferred) Minimum of ten years' experience in a senior finance role, including payroll Proven experience producing consolidated management accounts for international companies (preferably including UK and US) Hands-on experience working in a group with multiple entities, with responsibility for both operational outcomes and oversight Solid knowledge and understanding of payroll principles, processes, and procedures Thorough understanding of local tax legislation and practices Adequate knowledge of bookkeeping practices and accounting standards High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Strong problem-solving skills with excellent numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail Excellent communication skills across all staff levels Good time management and organizational skills Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and discretion at all times Duties and Responsibilities: Payroll Onboarding employees as well as maintaining and updating payroll records Assist in answering employees' questions regarding payroll-related matters Responsible for timeous and accurate payroll processing, reporting and reconciliations Ensuring that all payroll statutory submissions are completed timeously (PAYE, UIF, SDL) Processing all monthly SARS payments on E-filing Preparing monthly EMP201 Reconciling and submission of EMP501 at tax year end Distributing IRP5's at tax year end Issuing of payslips Assisting the Senior Finance Manager with the global payroll Finance Preparing VAT reconciliations and submissions to SARS Managing statutory requirements for SA including CIPC submissions, compensation commissioner returns etc Assisting with month-end closing processes including general ledger reconciliation, intercompany charges and consolidated management accounts Preparing financial reports with commentary and analysis when required for the Senior Finance Manager Assisting the Senior Finance Manager with budgets and identifying variances with explanatory narratives Updating the project management software and understanding the project finances for analysis purposes Bookkeeping tasks such as reconciling bank accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable overview Providing general assistance to the Senior Finance Manager
