Financial Manager

Southern Fruit Growers, with their head office in Somerset West, is looking for an experienced self-motivated and proactive Financial Manager to lead their finance team. The incumbent will play a key role in managing the companys financial operations, working closely with the CFO to support financial decision-making and drive the companys growth and success. The incumbent will report directly to the CFO. Duties will include: Lead, monitor, and evaluate the finance team's performance, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards Develop and manage financial models, analyse trends and risks, and monitor performance to recommend corrective actions Prepare financial statements and management reports to provide insights for strategic decisions Oversee SARS submissions and handle queries and audits Review and monitor financial processes and controls, implementing improvements to enhance procedures and optimise systems Analyse cost structures to identify savings and efficiency improvements to maximise profitability Identify and manage financial risks, including exchange rate exposure and credit risk, while ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies Evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes for accuracy and efficiency, implementing best practices in financial management and reporting All other tasks related to the role. Essential qualifications, skills and experience: Relevant tertiary qualification (BCom Accounting), postgraduate qualifications are advantageous; Completed SAICA articles are preferable; 1-2 years post-article experience; Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements; Advanced Excel skills; Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English); Valid drivers license.
