National Bioproducts Institute NPC has a vacancy for the role of Financial Manager. The successful incumbent will be required to oversee the financial management and financial control of the company and lead their team to ensure efficient and effective financial operations and administration.

Minimum Requirements
CA(SA)
At least 3 years' experience as a Financial Manager
At least 3 years' experience managing and leading a team
MS Office (Excel Advanced, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
SAP experience preferred but not essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Control and accounting
Ensure that the financial accounting of NBI complies with IFRS;
Monitor changes to accounting standards to ensure continued compliance
Ensure annual financial statements are prepared;
Ensure monthly, quarterly and annual statistical data is compiled and reported to Statistics SA in stipulated timeframe
Review general ledger reconciliations for accounts under your control
Financial Reporting and budget
Ensure monthly preparation and publication of management accounts to EXCO.
Ensure that the quarterly reports are prepared and submitted within stipulated timeline
Annual budget preparation with full set of financial statements (statement of income and expenditures, statement of financial position, statement of cash flows)
Accounts Payable
Review of creditor reconciliations
Authorisation of electronic payments
Fixed Assets
Manage the preparation of annual capital expenditure budgets and review of reports for capital expenditure
Review of Fixed Asset Register and reconciliation of assets
Review capital expenditure requests
Provide assistance to the business in evaluating capital acquisitions
Attend tender adjudication meetings for CAPEX acquisitions
Accounts receivable
Manage collection of debtors' payments and arrear accounts
Monitor and recommend changes to customer credit limits
Assist in resolving customer queries where needed
Review all outstanding customer accounts and confirm the collectability
Taxation
Prepare and submit annual tax return
Review the monthly VAT returns ensuring that all payments are calculated and submitted and paid within the respective timelines
People Management
Ensuring the effective management of the department/team by actively contributing to and supporting NBI's people management agenda, including leave, overtime and resource management, management of misconduct with NBI's HR framework, promoting employee engagement, etc.
Setting both departmental and individual objectives in order to meet NBI's strategic objectives, in the form of individual performance plans.
Evaluates and manages employee performance and implement corrective or remedial actions as required.
Identifying, supporting and implementing learning and development needs in collaboration with People Management.
Providing developmental, coaching and job enrichment opportunities to maximize employees' potential.
Support transformation, the execution and achievement of NBI's EE plan, diversity and inclusion within their respective departments.
General
Attend to ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Financial Director
Develop financial reporting tools to assist with amongst others management accounts, product costing, profit analysis, new business assessment and capital expenditure.
Manage the online banking profile and provide first level support to the enrolled online banking employees and managers
