Job Title: Senior Manager in FinanceThe role will support the Head of Finance and the CFO in the administrative, financial, and risk management operations, specifically on the Projects, managing daily operations, reporting accurate financial results, and implementing financial procedures to improve/maintain the financial health of the organisation.ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management and ReportingManage daily functions to ensure the financial infrastructure is stable and supports the future demands of the organisation.Manage daily operations by:Verifying the accuracy and quality of all financial information ensuring it is maintained in terms of international financial reporting standards and generally accepted accounting practices.Ensuring that performance measures and monitoring systems are in place that support the organisation's strategic direction.Managing and overseeing that reporting, monitoring and recording systems attain the highest standard of financial integrity.Ensuring that procedures and policies are implemented in line with best industry practices.Ensuring that the designed core cost structure and basis of recovery is implemented on a monthly basis for the project.Ensuring cash flow management of the project by monitoring cash balances and cash forecasts, and tracking cash flow to ensure it is appropriate and sustainable.Reviewing creditor reconciliations and ensuring they are submitted monthly as per finance timetable.Reviewing and authorising EFT payments and supporting documentation.Overseeing the issuance of financial information.Championing excellent management of financial resources, promoting efficiency, high performance and overall value for money.Promoting the review of financial policy, systems and practices to deliver continual improvement, automation and self-service and explore systems full benefits.Analyse, interpret and communicate financial and performance data, provide financial advice, and influence decision making where appropriate to achieve budget, targets and strategies:Monitor budget expenditure ensuring that expenditure is in line with what is required.Ensure the timely preparation of robust budgets from a financial perspective, testing the underlying assumptions and quality assuring the cost, benefits and mitigating risks.Prepare, and when necessary, present, various reports including monthly management packs and current reports ad-hoc reports to meet reporting requirements and ad-hoc requests.Responsible for collating and consolidating monthly top suppliers each month with all relevant BBBEE information:Track spending of suppliers.Ensure vendor registration information is consolidated in collaboration with Procurement to meet procurement requirements.Donor reporting: Meet the monthly deadlines in reporting to donors.Provide leadership in managing projects as well as monitoring and providing oversight of projects.Audits and Preparation of AFSAssist Head of Finance during various audits.Responsible for the donor audits conducted during the year.Assist Head of Finance with the statutory audits.Responsible for the preparation of the annual financial statement.Develop relationships with relevant financial institutions, internal, external and funder auditors and stakeholders to ensure good working relations.Manage and retain relationships with various vendors to meet the requirements of the organisation.Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile and support in identifying and reporting financial risks to the DCFO to ensure implementation of corrective measures and/or risks identified are mitigated to an acceptable residual risk. Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.Desired Experience & QualificationAt least 8 to 10 years' progressively responsible experience in a financial management role.Solid staff managerial and supervisory experience working in cross-functional teams.Solid knowledge of financial accounting policies and procedures.Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards.
