The role is responsible for overseeing the financial and accounting activities of the corporation, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions, and providing management with essential financial information. Key duties include managing risk, treasury, financial planning, accounts receivable/payable, and enforcing accounting procedures and controls.
Essential functions:
- Budgeting: Manage the annual budget process.
- Accounting/Finance: Supervises accounting staff to ensure accurate reporting, maintains controls, manages the general ledger, and reviews financial statements. Also responsible for financial analysis and providing reports to the Board of Directors.
- Other Finance: Oversees audits, feasibility studies, and credit management, advising management on financial matters.
- Tax: Ensures timely and accurate tax filings and compliance with government reporting.
- Cash Flow/Banking: Manage cash resources, banking relationships, and investment portfolios while forecasting cash flow.
- Insurance/Legal: Manages business insurance coverage, legal contracts, and insurance claims, acting as the primary contact for legal and insurance matters.
The role also includes periodic reporting, strategic financial planning, and maintaining compliance with corporate and governmental regulations .
Requirements Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or business. At least 8 years of accounting and/or finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing company. Superior analytical and problem solving skills. Proficient in Excel and ERP finance and accounting modules. Good people management skills, and experience managing people. Ability to report to the Board of Directors and top management on all financial matters. Good written and oral communication skills. Knowledge in foreign currency management is a plus.
