Financial Manager

A leading listed real estate investment trust based in Johannesburg is seeking a Financial Manager for a fixed-term contract role to support their growing business and finance team from January 2025 to 30th June 2025.
This exciting role will focus on critical financial management duties, acting as the interface between finance and treasury. You will lead key accounting tasks, including preparing consolidated financial statements and supporting year-end reporting. Success in this role will come from ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining the efficiency of treasury operations.
Key qualifications for the Financial Manager: Post-article experience in a commercial environment (preferably listed industry experience, advantageous if from a REIT)Experience in foreign currency accounting (advantageous)Experience with treasury operations, IFRS reporting, and listed environmentsKey duties for the Financial Manager include but are not limited to: Lead the preparation of subsidiary and consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRSOversee the audit process and engage with auditors to ensure complianceManage monthly and weekly bank reconciliations and creditor paymentsLoad and approve treasury payments, including complex instruments like interest rate swaps and forward exchange contractsReview commission calculations received from property managersCollaborate closely with the treasury team to execute key financial processesPrepare and review subsidiary and consolidated financial statementsKey personal skills for the successful Financial Manager: Strong attention to detail and leadership abilitiesAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, growing environmentExcellent communication skills, with a focus on collaborationAdaptable and able to manage deadlines efficientlyIf you are passionate about financial management and have strong experience in IFRS compliance, then please reach out for a further conversation.
