Now's the time to imagine your potential in a team where experts come together and ignite effective change.Are you someone who can: Key performance objectives Ensuring compliance with the FirstRand Tax Risk and Tax Compliance Frameworks.Assist with providing and collating information for Group Tax.Assist in managing financial disclosures.Maintain and build relationships with stakeholders.Documentation of all processes and ensuring that the relevant controls and reconciliations have been implemented.Monthly activities Monthly preparation of detailed accounting information and reconciliations which will assist Tax in the completion of the monthly tax calculation and reporting to various stakeholders.Ensure accurate, valid, and complete financial information is reported to Tax on a monthly basis.Review of tax pack schedules for submission to FRGT.Perform monthly accounting reasonability checks.Analyze accuracy and relevance of various reconciliations performed by Finance and Actuaries.Liaise with Finance and Actuaries to correct or amend any reconciliation differences identified.Review and analysis of complete and accurate Balance Sheet and Income Statement reports and supporting schedules.Review of responses on TB queries raised from FRGT to ensure they are reasonable, accurate, and complete.Assistance with implementation of various accounting processes and monitoring tax timelines and tax deadlines.Interim and year-end activities Assist Finance with preparation of Tax Pack queries and audit packs.Ensure adherence to the financial reporting deadlines determined by the Group and FRGT (includes deadlines for provisional tax processes and payments).Ad hoc projects that arise from time to time.Manage relationships with internal & external stakeholders i.e. CFOs and Actuarial teams.Able to run tasks and be proactive in delivery.Provide recommendations and implement process efficiencies.General tax administrative requirements.You will be an ideal candidate if you: Qualified CA(SA).Good understanding of the taxation of Long-Term Insurers with knowledge and understanding of the workings of the Five Fund Tax principles (this will be tested).General Insurance and IFRS 17 accounting experience.High degree of computer literacy – Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Deep analytical thinking skills for solving difficult problems.Sound accounting skills.Sharp arithmetic abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills - upward, downward, and lateral.Attention to detail.Proactive and ability to plan to meet multiple deadlines.Have an innovative mindset.Ability to work under tight deadlines.Ability to think and move quickly in a dynamic fast-moving environment.You will have access to: Opportunities to network and collaborate.A challenging working environment that is progressive and agile.Opportunities to innovate where initiative is taken and owned end to end.We can be a match if you are: Adaptable and curious.Analyze complex data sets.Thrive in a collaborative environment.Apply now if you are interested in taking the next step.
