Financial Manager (FM2409-2i)
We are looking for an accomplished Financial Manager with detailed knowledge and experience of financial and accounting procedures and the principles of internal controls.
This is a hands-on role, and the right candidate will be organised, focused and a self-starter. They will have the competence to oversee the full accounting function of the business and build a sound and disciplined financial management and reporting system. The right person will fit easily with our people-focused approach and have the confidence and skills to lead and develop our existing finance team.
Eldorado Fresh Lettuce Producers, based in Tarlton, is the largest producer of crisp lettuce in South Africa. Known for an innovative approach, we deliver fresh produce to all the major retailers in South Africa as well as to the Fresh Produce Markets.
Our ideal candidate will live in easy commuting distance to Tarlton, Gauteng, or be able and willing to relocate.
The focus of this role will be the oversight for all accounting functions and staff, to ensure sound financial practices and to support the CFO and senior leadership team in meeting and exceeding overall financial objectives.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
A relevant Honours degree. E.g. in Finance, Accounting, etc.
7 years' or more experience in a senior (equivalent to Financial Manager), full function, accounting role with management experience is essential
Have been through a full audit firm articles process as part of your career development
CTA preferred
Registration with a professional body, e.g., SAICA, CIMA, SAIPA is desirable
Experience in the agricultural or manufacturing industries would be highly advantageous
Experience in financial management, reporting, budgeting and forecasting
Experience with inventory management and cost accounting
Experienced in managing salaries and wages cycles
Deep experience and proficiency with managing year-end processes and audits
Strong working knowledge of VAT & tax laws, tax processes & IFRS for SME's
SARS e-filing and related experience
CIPC knowledge and experience
Experience with accounting and financial analysis tools
Intercompany experience would be an advantage
No criminal record

High level of proficiency in Pastel accounting and payroll packages
The ability to prioritise, excellent time management, planning and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail
Able to work on own initiative with a high degree of accountability
A collaborative attitude to working within the business and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
High level of proficiency with MS Office, especially MS Excel
Problem solving & decision-making skills
Professional verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Honesty and integrity with an ability to manage confidential information
Self-leadership skills
Willing to go the extra mile when required
Salary: Commensurate with experience
