Our client has an opportunity for a Financial Manager Assistant to join their Finance team.
To oversee the day to day account, tax, administration and financial management and to ensure the completion of accurate and timely financial accounting and management reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage an accounts team, or playing a part in the overall management of the company.
Assist with finance staff training and development to ensure that the team has up-to-date awareness and knowledge of best practice and financial mattersEnsure financial team follows the company policies and regulationsExamining accounts of internal systems (Auditing) or providing information for external auditorsPreparation of individual entity management accounts within reporting deadlinesResponsible for preparing the necessary month end journals (Debits and Credits)Perform financial analysis, reporting and management activitiesEnsure that the financial reports are prepared and delivered on timeReview financial data for accuracy, correctness and completenessPrepare relevant and accurate monthly management accounts for submission to the relevant stakeholders including the CFO, executive management team, as well as address any queries raisedReview the effectiveness of the accounting and reporting systems on an ongoing basis, to identify areas for enhancement or improvementMonitor and manage all expenses within the allotted budgetsAssist in account payable and receivable activitiesPerform balance sheet account reconciliation activitiesProviding commentary and analysis of month on month movementsComply with and keeping up to date with all the relevant tax laws and regulations and finance and finance related regulations, guidelines and codes of best practiceVAT reconciliation preparation and submission of VAT returns for entitiesDealing with the SA Revenue Services (SARS) o Writing of and filing of objections, as and when required, for all entities across all the various taxes (PAYE, vat, AND INCOME TAX)Correspondence with SARS relating to taxation matters involving the Group, includingVerifications and AuditsE-filing which includes VAT, EMPs, provisional tax, income tax and tax returns, etc.Maintenance of fixed asset registersFacilitate the annual audit and preparation of schedules and reconciliationsManage compliance with all relevant SARS registrations and requirements (monthly, bi-annually, and annually)Manage compliance with all relevant CIPC registrations and filing requirementsProvide organisational staff with efficient and effective support/assistance from the finance departmentDuring a colleagues leave of absence from the company or during peak month end or pak business periods, you may be required to perform other job tasks upon reasonable request from your line manager COMPETENCIES Deadline DrivenAttention to detailStrong administrative skillsSelf-drivenWritten and Verbal communicationInterpersonal SkillsAssertivenessLogical and methodical thinkerTime ManagementProblem Solving SkillsDecision Making SkillsAnalysis and InterpretationAble to perform and work under pressure
