Company: Express Employment Professionals SA Head OfficeOur client, a leading Foundry & Machining company, is looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis Controller. Your duties will include analyzing financial information and implementing effective strategies to enhance overall business performance. This includes maintaining financial policies and management information systems and establishing effective communication channels to inform management on all aspects of company finance. You will also develop financial reports and metrics.Key Performance Areas (KPA's) - Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)Departmental ControllingDetailed analysis comparing actual financial results with the budget and forecast results, covering key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with the organization's goals.Design new reporting models with process-driven continuous improvement methodology to improve Finance KPI development and tracking.Clear and concise explanation of variances, identifying key factors that contributed to favorable or unfavorable variances, which could include changes in market conditions, pricing dynamics, cost fluctuations, unexpected events, or any other significant drivers impacting financial performance.Conduct detailed financial analysis, cost assessments, and variance analysis to identify opportunities for operational improvement and enhanced profitability.Assess the trends and patterns emerging from the budgeted results over a defined period, identifying any inconsistent trends or fluctuations in performance and analyzing their implications for the organization's financial health.Develop a good understanding of the cost drivers and identify opportunities for optimizing profitability and managing costs down.Highlight notable opportunities, risks, or areas for improvement identified during the reporting process. Provide strategic recommendations based on the analysis to guide decision-making and drive financial performance improvements.Present the budgeted results in a visually appealing and easily understandable format. Utilize graphs, charts, and tables to display the variances, trends, and key performance metrics such as dashboards or interactive reports that can enhance the clarity and accessibility of information.Include comprehensive commentary to provide additional context and narrative around the budgeted results, offering contextual information about the business environment, market conditions, or any relevant external factors impacting the results.Ensure the reporting of budgeted results is timely and aligned with the reporting requirements of internal and external stakeholders.Foster a collaborative environment to encourage discussions on performance improvement strategies and alignment with organizational objectives.Planning Process (EA/OP)Develop accurate financial forecasts by analyzing historical data, market trends, and other relevant factors to project future financial performance.Conduct thorough analysis and consider internal and external factors to anticipate potential risks and opportunities.In collaboration with various departments, develop annual budgets for cost center owners by setting financial targets to achieve strategic objectives.Work closely with department heads and other stakeholders to understand their financial needs, provide guidance, and ensure alignment with overall organizational goals.Perform scenario analysis to assess the potential impact of different business scenarios on financial outcomes, such as changes in market conditions, pricing strategies, and cost structures.Monitor and report financial performance by analyzing actual financial results against forecasts and budgets, identifying any deviations, and providing explanations for the variances.Communicate the financial status of the organization to stakeholders through financial dashboards and presentations, enabling informed decision-making and timely corrective actions, if necessary.General ControllingUtilize financial software and tools to streamline processes, enhance accuracy, and optimize efficiency.Monitor and maintain compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and relevant laws.Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements, including all reconciliations of income statement and balance sheet accounts in accordance with IFRS standards and relevant statutory requirements.Ensure the costing methodology is in line with Group Policy and IFRS.Assist in improving internal controls related to inventory processes.Assist in inventory transactions and ensure ERP is live and accurate.Provide support in internal and external audits, ensuring documentation and explanations are readily available.Ad-hoc TasksPerform irregular, one-time, and special request tasks related to the department as a whole.Perform activities as stand-in for colleagues or supervisors as required from time to time.COMPETENCIESFinancial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial statements and financial metrics. Familiarity with financial modeling and forecasting methodologies.Analytical Skills: Excellent quantitative and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for detail. Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is beneficial.Strategic Thinking: Ability to think critically and strategically, connecting financial analysis to business objectives. Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to provide actionable insights.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner to non-financial stakeholders.Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues at all levels.Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.Level of Education:CA (SA)CPACIMAACCAJob Related Work Experience:Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in FP&A, Accounting, or a related area.Master's degree will be an added advantage.Experience developing financial reports and metrics.Experience in the manufacturing industry.Other Requirements:Technical background in Foundry and/or Machining environment.Salary: R750,000.00 to R1m CTC per annum. Medical Aid, Provident Fund, and 13th cheque. Accommodation allowance will also be paid.
