About the role The role is supporting the Finance Director for Compliance and Control (MISA Region) who is responsible for ensuring that Kerry is conducting its business in full compliance with laws and regulations pertaining to the food industry, as well as professional standards, accepted business practices, and internal controls.
Key responsibilities Preparation of financial forecasts for the statutory entity Review of monthly management accounts Review of year-end reporting files and year-end financial statements Annual update of the Kerry Control Reporting System (KCRS) where internal controls are documented and reported on. Assist with internal audits, submitting the responses to audit queries in a timely manner Completion and filing of local statutory accounts to ensure that these are prepared in accordance with local requirements, deadlines, standards, and templates. Review of divisional recharges Review of balance sheet reconciliations Review and analysis of leases (IFRS 16 impact) Annual update of insurance questionnaire for insurance risk requirements Provide hands-on support with the annual external audit Assist with ad hoc tasks and ongoing projects Leads the financial compliance activities with regards to: Kerry transfer pricing requirements Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) activities Taxation and Custom Duties Requirements which include: Income Tax and VAT Computations Deferred Tax Models SARs filing requirements and payments for income tax and VAT Adherence to custom duties requirements for import and export transactions Company Secretarial Duties Funding Requirements for working capital and CAPEX projects Cash forecasts Role Requirements Ad hoc travel required based on business needs Qualifications and skills Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CA) 5-6 years of experience Proficient in Microsoft Office suite SAP knowledge preferable P&L Management Astute business and commercial acumen Experience in the improvement and standardization of processes Knowledge of South African local statutory requirements would be beneficial – audit, direct and indirect tax
