Company & Job Overview Oversee and manage all aspects of the planning and delivery of our utility scale renewable energy plants to ensure that financial close is achieved. Coordinate the activities of all parties involved in the project, including Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contractors, Original Equipment Suppliers, Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Contractors, Owners Engineers and third-party consultants in accordance with each parties respective contract terms. Keep track of all CPs required to achieve FC. This position reports directly to Head of Closing/Head of Engineering and Procurement
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Assist Site and IPP Sourcing (SIPPS) team on project sourcing.Assist in the Development of Due Diligence (DD) criteria for the SIPPS team to consider when sourcing renewable energy sitesEnsure project HO from SIPPS to the closing team is achieved with all the necessary DD criteria metDevelop and update the financial close scheduleSchedule should be realistic and meet the IC timelinesEnsure that the relevant project gates or checkpoints is capturedCoordinate with various internal and external stakeholders forProcurement of EPC Contractors Lead the RFI process with assistance from the Project Engineer and other stakeholders.Receive and review all proposals from a technical and commercial perspective in order to shortlist preferred biddersEngage with bidders on HOTs and other commercial conditionsLead project optimisations with the Project Engineer and other relevant stakeholdersFinancial Close team Setup an effective financial closing teamManage and lead the FC Process with assistance from the head of closing (Head of Engineering and Procurement)Assist in the contractual negotiations with the EPCs or main suppliersEnsure that the relevant legislative requirements are met, example Eskom and other external stakeholdersEffective management of internal and external stakeholdersCoordinate and manage the LTA where requiredEnsure all individual team members are aware of their deliverables and are able to deliver timeouslyReporting Develop an FC trackerWeekly reporting (can be verbal) to relevant stakeholdersReport to the NOA Investment CommitteeFlag any risks/problems immediately to the head of closingIdentification, evaluation and prioritization of risks in accordance to the probability and impact of occurrence in terms of health, safety, monitory, time, quality and environmental impactCommunicating risk with the project stakeholders at its earliest stage to enable the project team to manage the risk effectively before the impact and probability of the risk escalates.POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Engineering, Project Management, Finance or Management related DegreeMinimum experience required
5-10 years' experience as a Project Manager in the power generation industry, with preferably the renewable energy industryOver 3 years site experience in financial close or project development of renewable energy projects in South AfricaIndustry knowledge, technical competence and skills
